I have yet to get over the unreal experience of attending & covering 2025 New York Bridal Fashion Week as a high-fashion photographer. Bucket list item/childhood dream come true, check! Alexandra Grecco is and has always been a favorite bridal designer of mine, so I couldn’t wait to showcase this NYBFW preview of their newest collection: “The Great Occasion.”

A blend of bridal and evening wear, this collection aims to challenge traditional wedding norms and create artistic pieces that anyone and everyone can fall in love with. In a day and age where we stay home and engage online more than ever, this collection is a heartfelt ode to the act of dressing up, getting ready, and stepping out of the house feeling your best—whether you’re off to dinner with your gals or heading to your wedding venue. Consider it a rebellion against normative wedding attire and the traditions that so often exclude & limit, rather than inspire & encourage you to embrace your one-of-a-kind style.

Subverting the status quo wasn’t the only goal of this collection. Alexandra Grecco drew inspiration from bygone eras, infusing both modern sensuality and old-world glam into every piece for a romantic, nostalgic feel. Throughout every gown, veil, and accessory, you’ll find hand-embroidered embellishments, delicate floral motifs, and understated luxury that ensures you’re always the best dressed in the room.
Let’s take a peek at a few of my favorite nontraditional pieces from the collection, shall we?✨

Consider my jaw broken, unhinged, and on the floor over this illusion veil of my dreams. The Dewdrop Veil is made of lightweight tulle, lined with crystal dewdrop embroidery for effortless sparkle that’s sure to go with any gown. The front falls just below the nose, the back resting delicately on the neck, but can be adjusted depending on where you’d like it to sit. (Im)patiently waiting for one of my couples to incorporate this dripping mini veil into their bridal look, stat.

I am still DROOLING over the Sunday Best Suit, made of the softest celadon wool in a delightful shade of sage green. Hand-embroidered ribbons cover the front of the jacket, bringing just a touch of delicate whimsy to this otherwise oh-so-classy suit. I can already see this being a fabulous after-party outfit to change into after your wedding ceremony!

The Swan Blouse was practically made to be worn and shown off on the dance floor, perfect for a second wedding day outfit or the highlight of your after party attire. It’s ethereal, it’s elegant, it’s magical, crafted from silk chiffon and embellished with sterling silver chains. Pair her with a stylish two-piece set underneath and soft white stilettos, or tuck her into your favorite pair of high-waisted trousers. There’s simply no wrong way to wear this beaut.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this Crescent Moon Hat since I saw it modeled at NYBFW. The Great Occasion introduces an assortment of new hats into the Alexandra Grecco bridal world, including this half-moon hat embellished with dew-drop beads similar to the Dewdrop Veil. Just unreal.

Leaning a little more traditional than the rest of the collection is the Solene Gown, a stunner in her own right. With a wide, scoop neckline, a corseted bodice, and a lightly-draped skirt, the Solene hugs you in all the right places while still letting you breathe. Pair her with a simple pearl necklace and the Dewdrop Veil for an utterly elegant look.

The Gossamer trades the low scoop neckline of the Solene for a dreamy high neck, made in both silk crepe satin and silk chiffon options. You can’t go wrong with either one, as the bias cut of this gown allows the fabric to drape down and really hug your curves in the most gorgeous way.

Finally, a collection of additional pieces & images from the NYBFW Alexandra Grecco presentation that I would die to photograph at a wedding. Tell me these aren’t some of the most magical creations you’ve ever seen!
