I’m still reeling over Sara & Adam’s wedding at the Edgewater Hotel—and am absolutely mind-blown to share that it was featured in the New York Times. What a dream come true to not only work with this icon of a couple, but to see their celebration get all the love and recognition it deserved. Endless hard work, planning, and love was poured into bringing this day to life, and through every moment it was easy to see just how much these two adore each other. Honored to be apart of capturing this special day for a special couple 🥂
If Sara looks familiar to you, it may be because you’ve seen her online—or read her writing and seen her Tweets, rather. A wildly talented & creative humor writer for publications including the New Yorker, ELLE, Betches, and Cosmopolitan, Sara has gained online popularity for her viral Single Girl Tweets—which made an iconic appearance at her and Adam’s wedding—and is a total gem of a human being to know IRL.
She and Adam initially matched on Hinge, and proceeded to unfold a quintessentially Seattle love story: a first date at the Fairmont Olympic, a romantic proposal on Lake Union right before a seaplane flight, and, eventually, an unforgettable wedding right on the waterfront. Read their featured NYT article here for Sara + Adam’s full love story that is both touching and humorous thanks to Sara’s storytelling.
P.S. I was also interviewed by Sara for a piece in Betches Brides, where we chatted about how to find the right wedding photographer for you. Sara and I originally connected after she spent some time following Seattle’s top wedding planners on IG, and digging through the tagged vendors to find potential candidates. Highly recommend taking a read through it if you’re on the hunt for your perfect documentarian, and don’t quite know where to start!
I was beyond thrilled that Sara and Adam chose the Edgewater Hotel as the venue for their special day, as it’s one of my favorite spots for a luxury wedding or elopement in the city. Offering luxurious suites, fairytale-esque venues, and breathtaking views of Elliott Bay, the Seattle skyline, and the Olympic Mountains, the Edgewater perfectly embodies the magic of the Pacific Northwest for couples who crave a classic Seattle celebration! It’s the total package, featuring elegant ballrooms, scenic terraces, and private dining rooms that can be customized to fit the flow of your unique day.
Expert tip: If you’re loving the look of the Edgewater but already have a venue reserved for your ceremony, consider booking the Edgewater solely for the getting ready portion of your wedding. It’s a fabulous hotel to stay in the night before & after you tie the knot, and offers gorgeous over-water suites that are simply perfect for getting all dolled up and ready to say your vows.

When it comes to planning a wedding that is fully, wholly, and completely personalized to your unique love story, it’s allll in the details—and Sara recognized that right from the get-go. Every part of her and Adam’s celebration was carefully, intricately planned down to the smallest pieces of decor. From the wedding shoes, to the florals, to the cocktail hour napkins, no detail was left untouched, no surface kept empty, no opportunity for a humorous touch missed.
Just a few of the incredible details from Sara and Adam’s day that I was obsessed with. . .
And finally, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the place cards left at each guest’s place at the dinner table: Sara’s coveted seating/”tweeting” chart featuring some of her most viral single girl tweets. A memorial to her iconic Single Sara Era, these tweets offered a glimpse into her modern dating journey and the catalyst that it became for so many beautiful things in her life, including many of her favorite people. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a seating chart that had more guests laughing—it was such a creative way to reflect on the journey that brought everyone there to celebrate Sara and Adam!

Sara and Adam clearly knew the importance of hiring the right vendors, because their dream day simply could not have been executed without the talent, creativity, & hard work of this team right here.
