I’m still over here daydreaming about the epic European adventure my husband and I went on not too long ago, and our 3 short days spent in London were simply not enough—but fortunately, I got to spend one of those afternoons with the sweetest couple! Kari and Drew were referred to me through a friend, and it turns out we all went to Michigan State; the world works in funny ways, doesn’t it? They now live in London and I was able to meet up with them for the loveliest afternoon stroll around Primrose Hill, a gorgeous neighborhood just north of Regent’s Park. What a dream to photograph a London couples session with two people who were so ready to share their love, and to document this season of their relationship living somewhere so exciting and new!
If you’ve never been to London, I can’t recommend visiting Primrose Hill enough: it’s a small, unique area of London near Regent’s Park, boasting these gorgeous Victorian terraces, pastel townhouses, and picturesque architecture. It was developed back in the mid-1800’s, and to this day still carries so much historic charm that has been preserved impressively well, now filled with chic restaurants and cafes, boutique fashion shops, and pubs galore. Across from Prince Albert Road, you’ll find Primrose Hill (the area’s namesake), where one of the six protected viewpoints in London is located. It’s an absolutely stunning spot to take in panoramic views of the city and lounge around in the grass, especially on a warm summer’s day—the dream place to have a romantic little outdoor picnic in the sunshine ☀️
All that to say, Primrose Hill was the dream area for Kari and Drew’s London couples session. We spent the afternoon meandering through the adorable neighborhood streets, passing by delightfully-colored townhouses of all sorts, from baby blues, to pale pinks, to pastel yellows; all of which paired perfectly with Kari and Drew’s cozy couples session attire. Kari wore what felt like a quintessential outfit for a dreary fall day in London, an oversized knit sweater featuring checkered neutral tones paired with a neutral-toned camisole, light-wash blue jeans, and chunky black ankle boots. LOVE how she intentionally elevated this minimalist autumn outfit with classy gold accessories, from her oversized hoop earrings to her layered necklaces! Drew opted for a neutral color palette as well, wearing a cream-colored shirt beneath a gray corduroy button-up and dark jeans. I’d say these two encompassed the classic London weather + skies flawlessly, and made this overcast day feel just a little brighter with their joyful, adventurous spirits as we wandered through the streets ✨ We even made friends with the sweetest little English kitty!
The sky decided to clear up a bit for us later in the afternoon as we found a street filled with adorable local bakeries, florists, bookstores, and stands overflowing with fresh fruit that we obviously had to stop at. I’ll never get over how warm and welcoming these European streets are; I could’ve spent all day sitting at one of those cafés, sipping on a coffee and enjoying delicious pastries with these two ☕For the last little bit of our time together, Kari changed into a fitted beige turtleneck and put on the coziest black faux fur vest, and Drew swapped his gray button-down for a warm, rust orange tone—ever the stylish couple. With the vibe of this session being a typical cozy afternoon exploring the streets of London, it was easy for Kari and Drew to relax into each other’s company, and simply enjoy every moment together. If every couples session could be like this, I’d be content forever.
Although I didn’t get quite as much time to traipse around London as I would have liked, I do know of a few of the best spots in the city for engagement + couples photos. Kari and Drew provided tons of recommendations for great places to eat and drink around London after our shoot, and we had so much fun seeing a bit more of the city!

London has my heart, but so does the Italian countryside; this Luxury Destination Wedding at Villa Corsini in Tuscany, Italy was absolutely magnificent.
