This shoot was so much freakin’ fun from start to finish, and I’m still thinking about it nearly three years later. I am a lover of ALL things fashion & female empowerment—so getting to do a clothing brand shoot that celebrates all of these things for the unbelievably wonderful VKTORI was a dream come true! I am so grateful to Keona, the founder of this amazing company, for trusting me and my creative direction at this shoot, along with Annie & Logan from The Kindred Films. Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to share this one with you, but better late than never, yes?
A Fabulous Clothing Brand Shoot for VKTORI
An innovative braless apparel brand
One of my greatest loves in life is having the opportunity to work with one-of-a-kind brands, birthed out of passion, creativity, and a desire to make a difference in the world. I’ve been so privileged these past few years to do so much of just that, working with brands such as Alexandria Jean Fitness, who helps folks lead a healthier lifestyle, and Lewis Au Parc, a local Seattle hair salon delivering only the best of the best to their clients. And after this shoot with Vktori, I can now add working with a braless apparel brand to my resumé—who ever would have thought?
I am completely, utterly obsessed with VKTORI, and with Keona, who created the brand and spent four years developing their signature product: the iconic No-Nip Tee. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a tee created with comfort at the front of mind, designed with a shielding liner so it can be worn bra-free! How cool is it that this lightweight, breathable tee has removable cups, an oh-so-cozy fit, and the versatility to be worn anywhere from your couch to the office? It was also designed in a neuro-inclusive way to support those with sensory sensitivities, meaning it’s luxuriously soft through and through. Love!
Keona dove into this project out of a desire to give women access to clothing that would leave them feeling safe, sexy, and free—without the judgment that often comes with doing so, especially when it comes to going braless. Showing skin is so often synonymous with sexuality in today’s society, and isn’t it way past time that we get over it & allow women to wear whatever they feel best in? I’ll step down from my soapbox now, but I just wanted to share how much I love and truly believe in this incredible, unique brand that Keona has poured her heart into. Fashion, freedom, & female empowerment
Fashion and female empowerment just so happen to be two of my favorite things in this world, so imagine my joy when the two blended together seamlessly for this clothing brand photoshoot at Humano Studios! My creative soul was ready to take charge alongside the VKTORI team and their videographer, ready to create imagery that they could use for years to come. Branding shoots are about so much more than just the aesthetics; they’re about creating imagery that helps you express your brand, tell your story, and elicit emotion from your potential clients & consumers. Investing in a visual representation of your brand is one of the easiest ways to show, not tell people what you’re all about without even saying a word—one of the key aspects of storytelling, which is so important when it comes to brand trust and recognition!
For this shoot, we focused on crafting a gallery of images that represented the core aspects of VKTORI’s brand: freedom, joy, comfort, safety, and empowerment, especially among those who identify as women. We set up a variety of scenes throughout the shoot to make sure we captured every piece of this talented team, with both posed & candid shots, group & individual shots, and lifestyle & detail shots. The whole group started off in their flagship Black Braless No-Nip Tee paired with jeans for a laid-back look, and then took the opportunity to design their own individual looks that were representative of their unique styles. My favorite part about branding photoshoots is the freedom we have to create and play around—with different poses, movement, emotions, etc. It helps when you’re working with a fabulous, camera-ready group like this!
We wrapped our time in the studio with a sweet champagne toast, well-deserved for this hardworking team who made my job incredibly easy. It was such a gift getting to work with Keona and help her share her innovative, inclusive brand with the world.
