As much as I adore bold & bright elopements (like this one!), I have to admit that there’s a special place in my heart for soft, neutral palettes filled with pale pinks, creams, and sprinkles of color. There’s something so dreamy about bringing together so many delicate shades with pops of vibrancy here and there, especially when it comes to spring weddings as the flowers begin to bloom, the temperatures begin to warm up, and the sun begins to come out of hiding. Getting to photograph this Seattle springtime styled bridal editorial at House Wight, a beautiful studio in Greenlake, truly made all my blushing-neutral dreams come true!
This styled bridal editorial was planned & executed by the talented Michelle Wight, a Seattle hair & makeup artist who owns the beautiful studio we shot in, House Wight. I cannot recommend this studio enough to any creatives looking for a place to bring their visions to life, or to couples who are on the hunt for an indoor studio for wedding-day portraits! Nestled in the heart of Greenlake, this studio has it all: plentiful open space to move around in, carefully-picked furniture, greenery, pampas grass, mirrors, bright white walls, dark wood floors, and even vaulted ceilings. I could not have asked for a better place to shoot – this gorgeous space made my job way too easy, encompassing all things modern & effortlessly elegant!
Michelle’s vision for this bridal editorial was simple: to showcase the soft & delicate beauty of a color palette filled with blushing neutrals, mixed with hints of vibrant reds & pinks to add a bit of contrast, through two unique bridal looks. And dare I say, what she pulled off might have been one of my favorite styled bridal shoots of all time?
While Michelle dreamt up the concept for this shoot, Emerveille Events brought it all together with their incredibly talented team of planner & designers. I already knew they would KILL it with this vision, as I actually had the honor of doing a branding photoshoot for them a while back (take a peek at all the glam, pearl-studded goodness we created here!), and they somehow exceeded every single one of my expectations.
Let’s take a look at the tablescape they put together for a moment, shall we? Actually, I may need more than a few moments to admire this creation, because boy was every little detail filled with so much intention and charm. Covered in an ivory tablecloth & sheer white runner, this table was covered in stunning floral arrangements designed by Mood by Chantelle, textured glassware, sparkling golden silverware, pale pink dish sets, and candles galore. I fell in LOVE with the way Chantelle curated the florals to feel incredibly organic, from the sprawling centerpieces filled with whites, pinks, & reds, to the small vases with just 2-3 blooms, to the bushy arrangements hanging over the table. Paired with the pink & beige candles and the matching tableware, as well as the elegant serif fonts on the dinner menu, every element of this setup flowed together flawlessly.
Moving onto the beautiful models who helped showcase two of the dreamiest bridal looks I’ve ever seen! Olivia modeled for the first look, donning the absolutely breathtaking Bellina gown from Galia Lahav. This dramatic ballgown with a wrap-around, off-the-shoulder sleeve design, layers and layers of ivory & blush tulle, and delicate embroidery across the chest was the perfect centerpiece for this shoot! Surrounded by those sprawling floral arrangements I was talking about, plus a bushy bouquet of her own to hold, Olivia brought this look to life spectacularly.
Tierney was our second stunning model, rocking the Darlington gown from Lela Rose Bridal. This elegant & glam gown featured a strapless silk top, a flattering tailored bodice, and a whimsical 3D floral-embroidered skirt that made Tierney look like an absolute goddess! We had her pose with the velvet couch, and my goodness – the way her red hair and those florals looked against that peach color was perfection!
Now, if you’ve looked through any of my blog posts or Instagram captions before, you probably know how OBSESSED I am with flash photography, and that I love incorporating it into every single shoot. The way that flash can accentuate the smallest of details and create vibrant, punch contrast makes me question whether I prefer it over natural light. . . I love them both equally, for different reasons! That’s why I felt like each portion of the shoot deserved its own section, so enjoy these fire flash shots from this killer day🔥
Big thanks to each and every creative who poured their time and energy into making this styled bridal editorial come to life so beautifully!
