An entire 90’s-inspired bridal editorial sparked by one reference image I randomly came across recently. . . this is the kind of project I am LIVING for lately. The kind where I get to work with wildly talented creators like Mary, where I get to carry out my spontaneous visions & play around with all kinds of outfits just for the fun of it. Mary was the most exceptional styling partner and model for this editorial that we brought to life in downtown Seattle!
The moment I saw this image of our queen Pamela Anderson holding a martini in the city, I knew I had to recreate it in the form of an entire bridal editorial on the streets of Seattle:
I like to think of it as the embodiment of 90’s bridal fashion: sleek and sophisticated with a little bit of an edge, a little hankering for the drama of it all. Mary’s fashion background made her the total dream to collaborate with on for this shoot, and an amazing styling partner in crime pairing this shag jacket with the sexy satin corseted gown & Cult Gaia heels. If you look closely at these luxe sandals, you’ll find a gorgeous, sculptural calla lily design, the stem wrapping around the foot for a uniquely organic feel. You could say I’m head-over-heels in LOVE with these beauties and the exquisite detail they added to Mary’s look so effortlessly!
I can think of no better place to capture the romance & the busyness of big city life than Pike Place, where thousands of people stroll past bright flowers, under the glow of the neon signs, through the shouts of the iconic fish mongers and the salty smell of the piers. Pale pink cherry blossom trees lined the brick streets as Mary strutted through the market in her dramatic shag jacket, making a statement with every step as she caught the eyes of tourists around her. I cannot get over the shots we got as she nonchalantly sipped her martini in the middle of the sidewalk, as if she were waiting for a cab on a busy night in NYC—I hope we did Pam Anderson PROUD with those ones!
