Pretty much nothing is more fun than spending an afternoon at a stunning studio in the city with a baddie who’s ready to be your muse—and get the fashion portraits she’s been dreaming of. Such a marvelous day shooting fashion editorial portraits for Jen at Neu Haus Seattle!
Huge advocate for playing dress up over here, because let’s be real: we all need a little more childlike fun in our lives 👛Especially now that we’re adults and can afford to dress up in clothes that are a little fancier than the ones we rocked at age 5 😉 Jen came to me with a vision for her photos that included a variety of unique outfits, each encompassing a different style, personality, or creative idea she’d been imagining come to life. While each and every outfit was different and completely one-of-a-kind, I loved that every single look had some little touch of luxury, whether it be a delicate head scarf covered in elegant floral patterns, a gorgeous half-moon handbag glistening in luxurious silver, or a pair of diamond-encrusted dangly earrings that shimmered with every subtle move.
Designer props and accessories like these are undoubtedly the easiest way to sprinkle subtle (or not-so-subtle) touches of glamor, elegance, and luxury into your photos. Here are a few items to consider bringing along to your fashion editorial shoot if you want to elevate your looks!
Planning some fashion-forward bridal portraits? I highly recommend renting chic, show stopping bridal pieces from Aveil Bridal!

Jen’s first look had to be one of my favorites, the styling inspired by magazine covers from the 1990’s. The neutral color palette, the caramel-colored trench coat, the olive green + floral headscarf and the shiny black boots fitted over fishnet stockings—obsessed is an understatement. Jen looked like she should’ve been walking the streets of NYC while she starred in her own romantic comedy with that bold red lip, the loose waves, and the tortoiseshell sunglasses! You can NEVER go wrong with neutrals in a naturally-lit studio space with an abundance of white walls and pampas grass (shoutout to Neu Haus for the gorgeous space) 🔥
The rest of Jen’s looks invited in a fabulous variety of colors, both bold and muted—a couple of my favorites being the vibrant red she paired with her silver heels + purse and her pastel green/lilac look, elevated by a shimmering pearl handbag. I’m telling you, Jen was the dream client to work with, ready to embrace all aspects of her personality, showcase a collection of her favorite fashion choices, and not be afraid to completely change it up from one look to the next. An absolute icon of a woman who was SUCH a pleasure to create magic with.
