Tell me you’re getting married at a winery with a gorgeous greenhouse, a charming wine cellar, and waterfront views—and I’m yours. Solveig and Michael celebrated their union with a stunning winery wedding in Fremont, Seattle, moving through multiple venues that each provided a unique atmosphere for different parts of their celebration. Cannot thank these two enough for inviting me along for the ride!
Who says you have to get ready at a hotel when you could rent out a mansion for you and your wedding party? ✨S and her gals did just that, renting out the stunning Shafer Baillie Mansion to get ready with her gals the morning of her wedding. This fabulous B&B in Capitol Hill was the perfect atmosphere to spend a delightful morning with her best friends, exploring the spectacular Tudor Revival home and all its charming little nooks and crannies. We took full advantage of the gorgeous sunroom to capture all of her wedding details, followed by what was probably my favorite moment of the day: an adorable Aperol spritz moment with many, many cheers to the bride.

Also fell in LOVE with S’s pearly accessories while capturing her bridals—not going to lie, I’m probably going to ask you a million questions about your details, where you got them, and what about them inspired you. I think these small things can really set the tone for how to tell your story.
Choosing the right getting ready space for your wedding day is crucial in ensuring your morning is smooth and stress-free, and that your photos are beautiful, as well. The mansion provided a dream setting for getting ready photos, with an abundance of natural light, thoughtfully-decorated rooms, unique furnishings, and soft, flattering color palettes. The memories you create while getting ready are just as important as the aesthetics of the space you are in, and you want to make sure you choose a space that has plenty of room for you and your loved ones to move around. Once everyone was all dolled up and ready to go, S, M, and their respective wedding parties made their way to the church where the ceremony would be held. It was such a special and touching ceremony, honoring their relationship and every person who’s been along for the journey, supporting them every step of the way. Solveig looked ever the beautiful bride with the back of her train draping down the steps as she made her way up to the altar to meet her groom, and the two of them shared many emotions as they celebrated their first kiss as husband and wife. On the way out, guests tossed hydrangea petals on the newlyweds for the most vibrant, ethereal floral exit—it turned out to be a fabulous thing that they accidentally ordered a ridiculous amount of these blue beauties!
The happy couple and their wedding party hopped in a party bus en route to Almquist Winery, the setting for their beautiful winery cocktail hour and riverside portraits. While Almquist has since closed, unfortunately, this magical reception still serves as lovely inspiration for what your own Seattle winery wedding could look like, filled with exquisite cocktails, elevated catering, and all the people you love most. Solveig and Michael planned a stunning evening for their family and friends deep in the wine cellars of Almquist, seated at long tables covered in navy blue decor and candlesticks, beneath the sparkling bistro lights. I was OBSESSED with S’s dress change later in the evening. Cheers to these stylish, wildly in love newlyweds who I had the honor of sharing this space with 🍷
