The only words I could possibly think of to describe the experience of shooting with Mae & Co Creative in Tuscany: a feast for the eyes. I’ve been drooling over every single one of these images ever since the day we were photographing this luxury destination wedding at Villa Corsini in Tuscany, Italy, and I cannot even tell you how hard it was to pick just a few to feature in this blog post! Don’t worry—I’ll be sharing a million more of these on Instagram until your feed breaks 😍From the endlessly frescoed walls to the magnificent Italian gardens to the old Italian craftsmanship, every little detail of this day was every artist’s dream come true.
On the rolling Tuscan hills of Chianti lies one of the most marvelous properties I have ever stepped foot on: Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte; a historic Italian Villa brimming with architectural excellence, rich traditional elements, and an atmosphere of inviting warmth around every corner. Located just beyond Florence, this villa has been owned by the noble houses of Medici and Corsini for generations, offering a dreamlike setting for extraordinary events of all sorts.
Mae & Co chose this venue for its blend of romance, history, culture, and splendid beauty; a mixture which, unsurprisingly, proved to be pure magic for a wedding. What more could a couple dream of for their Italian destination wedding venue than somewhere with manicured gardens, rolling green hills, elegant ballrooms, breathtaking architecture, and endless views of the Tuscan countryside?
There is no possible way I could dive into each and every feature of this incredible venue in just a few paragraphs, but I will be giving you a bit more info toward the end of this blog—so be sure to read till the end!
I was absolutely blown away by the artistic vision Mae & Co not only had for this destination wedding in Tuscany, but executed; a seamless blend of modern romance with the traditional elements of this historic Italian setting. You’ll see throughout the photographs of this day a variety of sleek, sophisticated decor and details, yes, but you’ll also see more traditional Italian components that were allowed to shine on their own, such as the ancient terracotta statues in the Southern Italian Garden, and the frescoed roof of the Gallery.
As an artist, I am always finding inspiration through things like fashion, music, and architecture; finding magic in the smallest of details, in the textures, in the layers, in the nuance. So this venue was truly a bit of a playground for me, especially with Mae & Co’s creative genius and thoughtful touches incorporated into every little nook & cranny.
I am not often left speechless by getting ready rooms; typically, couples make use of a hotel room, or a wedding suite at their venue. But there is nothing typical about Villa Corsini; no, the bride and groom spent the morning in what has to be the most marvelous “getting ready” room I’ve ever seen! Located adjacent to the main entrance of the Villa, Putti Hall was named after Cecco Bravo’s 1632 work of art, the Putti Hall of Games, which features a series of frescoes depicting children’s games—known as “putti.” The vaulted ceilings and large windows create a moody, romantic ambiance, with small areas of natural light that contrast the dark floors & ceilings of the hall. Melanie and Jack put on their final touches surrounded by these frescoes, the bride slipping on her sparkling heels and the groom adjusting his cufflinks. I could’ve stopped photographing the day right then & there and have still left a happy, happy woman 🤍

The ceremony took place in one of Villa Corsini’s two Italian gardens, otherwise known as the Garden of Meridione. Decorated with ancient terracotta vases and statues of Impruneta craftsmanship, as well as an awe-inspiring fountain of water lilies, this garden is everything one could dream of for a romantic wedding in the Italian countryside. The bride and groom walked through an ornate gateway to reach the garden, where they were met with a color palette of soft blush, chartreuse, and neutral florals lining the stone walls, as well as the aisle behind them. The delicate, white daisies sprinkled into the cascading arrangements, as well as into the bridal bouquet, created such a gentle, romantic sentiment; perfectly matched with the tranquil setting of rolling hills, lavish vineyards, and manicured lawns around them.

We eventually made our way to the reception site for this wedding—although “reception site” doesn’t feel anywhere near grand enough to describe the breathtaking room where it was held. Walking into the Galleria del Pandolfo Sacchi (the Gallery) and seeing this remarkable tablescape truly felt like walking into a fairytale ✨The Gallery is one of the most renowned rooms in Tuscany, with over 150 square feet of stunning space highlighted by impressive frescoes, a marvelous (also frescoed) roof, and large windows that allow in soft natural light. The long, rectangular reception table took my breath away beneath the arched roof of the room, featuring a sleek, sage green cloth draped over the table and a glorious color palette of pinks, more greens, and blushing neutrals. Greenery was placed delicately across the table, as well as around the rest of the Gallery; florals filling the corners and vining up the ornate wall furnishings to add a breath of fresh air to the warm indoor ambiance. Each seat at the table had its own set of elegant tableware; crystal glasses within arm’s reach and dainty floral plates stacked beneath a custom menu. Fruit and macaron-filled goblets hid among the vibrant blossoms, adding a touch of beautiful, earthly colors to an already lively tablescape. It’s hard to put this creation, this piece of art, into words; so I’ll allow the photos to say the rest for me!
What a dream, what a dream, what a dream. . . eternally grateful to the team of talented vendors and artists who poured so much of their time and creativity into this shoot, and that I got to be a part of it!
