Still speechless at this more-than-perfect finale to a spectacular wedding season in Seattle. Allison & David hosted the most stunning wedding at The Corson Building with the loveliest group of humans (both guests + vendors) and to be honest, an atmosphere like this makes my job a walk in the freakin’ park. Elegant details full of blushing neutrals, luxe dinner party vibes, and an evening of laughter under the gentle glow of candlelight—this day was everything and more🥂
A wedding day simply would not be complete without a morning spent getting ready with the people you love, whether that means you get dressed up next to your partner or among a group of your closest friends. Allison and David spent the morning of their big day getting ready at the Lotte Hotel, a beautiful hotel that I adore in downtown Seattle. It’s the ideal place to get ready if you’re tying the knot at a venue in Seattle that may not have rooms to get ready in: gorgeous views of the city (with Smith Tower front & center), spacious suites for you and all of your loved ones, and abundant natural light for dreamy portraits.
Allison and her friends were absolute stunners from the moments they lounged on the couch in their cozy PJ’s, all the way through till they were fully glitzed & glammed up in their gowns—made my job easy as pie! I was obsessed with how minimalist and elegant Allison kept her bridal look, wearing a breathtaking satin gown that she paired with sparkling pearl earrings and a sleek low bun. Once she put on her white heels with jeweled straps, I knew it was going to be game over for David once he saw her—who, by the way, looked dapper as can be in his black velvet suit & champagne bowtie🔥
On the topic of having your wedding morning documented, I’m finding that more and more, couples are choosing to forego the getting ready coverage altogether or make it short and sweet—and while there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s personally one of my favorite parts of the day as your photographer. I don’t just use this time to take photos of you getting your hair & makeup done! It represents one of those rare, slow-paced portions of your timeline and allows us to get used to each other and for me to drop into my creativity through the detail shots.
I swear every couple I work with somehow knows the way to my heart: details, details, details. It’s true when they say it’s all in the details; the small, seemingly less significant pieces of your wedding day are what make up the vibe, the atmosphere, and the energy of your celebration. Allison and David really popped off with their decor and details, from the spectacular floral arrangements all the way down to the custom-embossed napkins at the dessert table.
They went all out with their luxe dinner party vibe, setting the tone months in advance when they sent out their elegant invitations written in sleek, serif fonts, complete with a golden wax seal featuring their initials. Once the day arrived and the guests showed up to the venue, they were welcomed by the most glorious, candlelit atmosphere filled with soft florals, lush climbing vines, glistening bistro lights, and breathtaking tablescapes. Even Allison and David’s dinner menus were elevated to match their invitations, and were surrounded by touches of elegance—crystal glassware, delicate florals, and glowing candlesticks, to name a few.

Who says you need sunshine and daylight to have a beautiful wedding ceremony? Certainly not anybody that Allison and David listened to, because they took a bit of a different route with a candlelit ceremony as the sun went down—and my goodness did it pay off. The atmosphere of this ceremony, created by the twinkling lights above the guests and the candles that lined the aisle, was absolutely brimming with romance and warmth at every corner. Guests showed up to the black tie affair dressed to the nines, with glasses of their favorite drinks in hand as Allison and David exchanged their vows under the soft glow of the candles around them. Musicians played a stunning collection of string pieces as the ceremony began and ended, and every moment was so vibrant, so alive under the darkening night sky.

The celebration continued into the rest of the evening with a candlelit cocktail hour, and into a nighttime soirèe in the form of a luxe dinner party. I absolutely LOVED the intimate, romantic vibe that Allison and David chose—no dancing, emcee, or grand ballroom; just the two of them at one long, thoughtfully-decorated table, surrounded by the people they love most. Nothing could be better, and you could tell they felt just that way by the smiles on their faces as they were sent off into the night as newlyweds! What a stunning evening that I am so, so thankful to have been able to witness. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs.🥂
