If you saw my recent blog post featuring Alexis + Alex’s Fairytale Castle Wedding at Skylands Manor, then you know I’m a sucker for wedding venues with those old-world, elegant vibes, historical charm galore, and endless little nooks and crannies just waiting to be discovered. Just as that enchanting castle in New Jersey did, the Lodge at St. Edward Park fulfilled every one of those bids—and boy was Megan and Quinn’s wedding a stunner for it. With an intimate garden ceremony, elegant details, and a picturesque, sun-drenched property, Megan and Quinn threw the type of celebration that will simply never be forgotten.
Megan and Quinn knew that with a wedding in western Washington, they would never be able to rely on the weather to comply, even in the middle of July—but fortunately, they got every bit of sunshine that the Pacific Northwest had to offer. The July skies decided to gift us with an abundance of sunlight from beginning to end, from the moment the bride and groom sat down with their loved ones to get ready for the day all the way through till the goodbyes at the end of the night. And what a magnificent venue this was, bursting with grandeur, elegance, and greenery that was at its most vibrant under the sunshine; we really lucked out with the perfect day for this midsummer celebration!
I love shooting outdoor portraits as much as the next photographer, but gosh do I love using beautiful indoor spaces just as much! This venue was overflowing with stunning entryways, charming decor, and gloriously large windows, so you bet Megan and Quinn took advantage. Instead of using any of the greenery-filled outdoor spaces, they had their first look inside of a really gorgeous hallway that highlighted the venue’s art deco interiors & Romanesque revival architecture—just admire those busts & statues with me for a brief moment!😍 Megan made her way down this magnificent hallway in a romantic, refined shoulderless gown, highlighted by a bejeweled belt, lovely off-the-shoulder sleeves, and dainty buttons lining all the way down the back. She met her groom right in front of the elegantly-arched windows, who was clad in a dusty blue suit, a mauve tie, and a boutonniere of roses to match Megan’s bouquet. Such an effortlessly beautiful and joyful couple who were nothing short of thrilled to see each other, all dolled up for the big day!
Megan and Quinn held their ceremony at what was, in my opinion, the most romantic & enchanting of the venues that the lodge had to offer—the Grotto. This intimate garden alcove in St. Edward State Park was nothing short of magical, highlighted by a gorgeous display of stones beneath a canopy of lush, vibrant summertime greenery. It was the type of place that makes you feel like you’re in your own little romantic fairytale, amongst a secluded, magical garden that nobody else can find. Their ceremony was intimate, with their closest family and friends seated in front of them in rows of wicker chairs, watching as they exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife. I’ve got to say that these ceremony images may be some of my all-time favorites—that sun-speckled greenery was utterly divine!
There’s truly no better way to entertain a group of (potentially tipsy) wedding guests than with oversized children’s games—you’ll never fail to get folks laughing, smiling, and letting loose with a giant Jenga competition, or by filling in a big “Sip and Solve” crossword puzzle. After snapping some portraits of the new husband and wife exploring the grounds of the breathtaking property, they hosted a cozy reception under bistro lights out on the patio. Megan and Quinn mingled with loved ones amidst the warm, summer evening air, while their guests had a grand time playing games, sipping on refreshing drinks, and leaving their well wishes on the old rotary phone set up as a guest book. Such a fun and creative way to invite your guests to share their love, that you can then listen to in the future!
Everything about this venue, the couple, and the details of the day were simply to die for; filled with nothing but love, intention, and community with the people closest to them. The biggest thank-you to Megan and Quinn for inviting me to tag along and document all of the incredibly special moments that came from this celebration🤍
Set among the trees just 20 minutes from Seattle, this is a new favorite venue that I cannot wait to recommend to future couples who are craving that all-inclusive venue feel complete with cozy accommodations, live music, wellness offerings, wine tastings, and so much more. Megan and Quinn made a fabulous decision choosing this luxury lodge as their venue, as it was the perfect space to host their mid-size group of guests on this summer evening.
With a multitude of venues to choose from, including the pristine Great Lawn, the historic Remington Ballroom, and the secluded garden at The Grotto, you’ll have plentiful opportunities to create the day of your dreams on this property. It’s versatile, planned intentionally with engaged couples in mind, and will impress your guests with its beauty the moment they set their foot on the grounds. I’ll always obsess over venues that take inspiration from the art deco style, especially when it’s a magnificent, restored lodge like this one with an abundance of unique charm. I can’t recommend The Lodge at St. Edward Park if you are searching for a unique wedding venue in the Seattle area that truly makes you forget that you’re even in the PNW!
Megan and Quinn did a fabulous job of taking an already-stunning, beautifully-designed venue and making it truly feel like them for their wedding day. This is exactly what I encourage every one of my couples to do, whether your dream celebration involves a castle-esque venue, a walk in the big city, an intimate gathering in your backyard, or none of the above.
