I always treasure time spent connecting with fellow creatives who are equally as passionate about art, fashion, and, above all else, making people feel good—so you bet I had a fabulous time working with the team at Lewis Au Parc! Working with different types of brands and businesses is a challenge I adore + am constantly seeking out, as I love finding ways to make anything and everything look magical in front of my camera. In this case, it wasn’t too difficult; when you’re working with a team that prides themselves on elegance, meticulous detail, and artistry, it’s almost too easy to get eye-catching, high-end hair salon branding photos like you’ve never seen before.
No, I’m not talking about the ever-popular brand of hair care products—thought that would be appropriate considering the subject of this blog post 😉 I say “not your mother’s” branding photos in the sense that this is not a traditional hair salon, so these aren’t your traditional brand photos either, folks; this is brand imagery that exudes creativity, sophistication, elegance, and emotion in every sense.
Located in the heart of Bellevue, WA, Lewis Au Parc is a one-of-a-kind, “haute couture” hair salon (aka the center of everything high-end, fashion-forward, & luxury) that was absolutely calling my name the moment I learned about them. Designed by a renowned French interior designer and curated with meticulous detail, unmatched creative talent, and careful intention, this salon is like no other you’ve seen before. I was truly obsessed from the moment I stepped foot inside of this European-inspired space, filled with Murano glass faucets, quilted leather seating, custom chandeliers, and gold leaf ceilings that spark memories of a little apartment in Paris. The experience and atmosphere they’ve created for their clientele is absolutely unmatched, and I had to gush a little bit about it before we chat more about the photos themselves!
Working with a variety of businesses means I’m always finding new ways to make people, products, and processes look damn good in front of my lens, and this shoot was no exception. It was incredibly fun getting creative with the team at their salon and finding unique ways to capture the things they do on a daily basis: not only cutting, spraying, washing, and coloring hair of all kinds, but making genuine connections on a human level with every person who walks through their doors.
I made my way around the salon, capturing every little detail that was clearly well-thought-out and carefully planned, from the golden champagne bottles to the stacks of fashion books, all the way to the walls adorned with quaint floral wallpaper. And the furniture + lighting fixtures in this salon? My goodness—I’d like this team to design my home, please! The cozy couches, custom-designed chandeliers, and lounge chairs create such a warm, inviting atmosphere for a purely relaxed + sophisticated client experience.
Throughout our time at the salon itself, each of the team members worked on each other so I could snap photos of them doing their thing—I’m not sure how they make washing hair and setting down pairs of scissors look so damn good, but they do! I had a blast playing around with the natural light coming in through the windows, the ring lights bordering the oval-shaped mirrors, and my flash to create unique lighting effects + eye-catching detail images. Can you tell that hair salon branding shoots are my new favorite thing? And how fun are the candid champagne toast images we snapped at the end!
Taking brand photos that encompass the entirety of your brand means having a balanced blend of on-the-job-style photos, as well as product images, but also candids and portraits to show the face behind the business. I worked with the Lewis Au Parc team again at Humano Studios to capture individual and group portraits of everyone, each team member rocking their own look + bringing their own unique style to the table. I guess this is what happens when you bring a talented group of individually creative, artistic humans together: everyone looks good, and looks good all the time. Love the posed group shots we took at the studio, making use of the soft natural studio lighting + positioning each person at a different level for an intentional, elevated look!
Humano is one of my favorite locations for indoor portraits in Seattle—take a peek at Streamline Your Style’s Fashion-Forward Branding Photos to see more of the space.
I am beyond filled with gratitude that I got to work with this ever-talented, exceptionally creative team of people for their creative hair salon brand photos. What a gift!
Clearly brand photos are one of my all-time favorite things to capture as a photographer, as well as just-for-fun, artistic portraits to celebrate your own unique individuality. Whether you are the owner of an upscale hair salon looking for creative brand photos, a wedding photographer looking for new headshots that break the mold, or simply a human being looking to feel like your best, most badass self, it would be an HONOR to work with you, my friend. I’m now open for branding shoots in early 2024—what better way to start off the new year than with a gallery of photos you adore?
Reach out here and let’s create some magic together, darling✨
