I had an unbelievable time capturing this stunning styled wedding at The Greenhouse at Almquist in Fremont, Seattle last year. Special thank-you to AnneMarie from Something Blue Productions for reaching out to me about being a part of this shoot that absolutely gave me LIFE!
I was ecstatic when AnneMarie reached out to me asking me to shoot this stunning, styled wedding in Fremont because not only do I LOVE using styled shoots to boost my creativity & try new things – I also knew that she would absolutely kill it with whatever she put together. And whew were all of my expectations still blown out of the water the moment I stepped foot in Almquist Winery! I truly believe that some of my best work as a photographer is created at styled shoots, simply because having full freedom to have fun, and work allll the angles + lighting, is a feeling that’s unmatched for creatives.
AnneMarie went all out when planning this styled shoot with Kailey + Chandler modeling, and every single vendor poured their hearts and souls into the details that went into it. Every little detail was overflowing with romance, elegance, and intentionality, as everything coordinated so beautifully from the silverware, to the linens, to the stationery. And this stationery was something ELSE, let me tell you. Olympic Place Prints created the most breathtaking invitations and RSVP’s boasting drool-worthy cursive lettering and elegant serif fonts. Even the envelopes were coordinated with the pale blue accents color that accented every piece of decor, and were elevated with white floral outlines + gorgeous white wax seals. Now that is what you call “details!”🤤
These florals deserve a minute (more like an HOUR) to shine because hot damn, did Flora D’Amore know what she was doing! The greenhouse space already looked stunning on its own, but the way she elevated the open, naturally-lit space with bundles of baby’s breath & white roses took MY own breath away. That setup with the bouquets hanging down and baby’s breath covering the speakers?! What a creative, unique way to help a couple make a grand entrance!
And not only did the bushels of baby’s breath make such an elegant statement on their own – the floral arrangements sprawling with thin greenery, white & blush pink roses, and pale blue bellflowers covered the tablescape beautifully. The florist even created mini matching bouquets to place on top of each guest’s plates🤯The soft textures of the roses & baby’s breath against the harsh edges of the wine glasses created such a perfect balance.
Now let’s take a moment to talk about flash photography, because it is my BIGGEST obsession as a photographer and is something that I believe helps elevate images to a whole new level. Most photographers wouldn’t think about using flash photography to shoot florals, as you typically take advantage of natural light to bring out the soft tones & textures – but photographing florals with direct flash is my absolute favorite. I’m obsessed with the way it creates much more dynamic images and brings out the shadows, exposes all the glistening highlights, and brings the vibrancy of the colors to life. Oh, and flash bouncing off champagne towers creates the dreamiestttt effect you ever did see🤩
Moving on to the star of the whole damn show: the Danielle Frankel gown that Kailey wore like an absolute QUEEN. Wowwww this gown was just something else, the picture of pure, heavenly elegance. AnneMarie picked the Noa gown designed by Danielle Frankel for its pearl-toned, silk wool gown featuring the most exquisite wilted neckline, off the shoulder long sleeves, criss-cross draping detail across the back, and a fully lined skirt. Words can’t even do it justice, so allow me to share the goodness that was Kailey in this gown through photos✨
Another massive thank you goes out to Something Blue Productions for pulling an amazing team of vendors together to bring this stunning vision to life – I had a ball getting to photograph every little detail!🤩
Before you leave to plan your own elegant wedding with a gorg Danielle Frankel gown to replicate this, I wanted to share a little more about the venue with you! This styled shoot was held at The Greenhouse at Almquist which is a part of Almquist Winery, a gorgeous wedding venue in Fremont, Seattle.
The Greenhouse at Almquist can seat up to 48 people for dinner celebrations or 60 people for cocktail-style celebrations, and is surrounded by a gorgeous wine garden space with a chic restaurant & barrel room nearby for larger groups.
