This Pike Place Market Engagement shoot might be one of my favorites of all time. When Sammie reached out to me looking for someone to capture her engagement to Matt, she was looking for something different and creative. She told me she was inspired by the idea of a nighttime shoot, somehow incorporating the illumination of neon signs and city lights. I was instantly inspired by her vision and couldn’t think of a better place to shoot than Pike Place Market.
We kicked off the shoot before sunset on this gorgeous downtown rooftop. Sammie & Matt were such naturals in front of the camera just simply due to their chemistry as a couple.
Once the sun started to go down, we wandered over to the market. I used to live a couple of blocks away from Pike Place when I first moved to Seattle back in 2014, and I’ll always be grateful for a year spent exploring this cornerstone landmark of downtown Seattle. There is so much more to this place than the fish-tossing, especially after hours.
We brought Sammie’s vision of neon signs & nighttime lights to life in the most magical way.
For the finale, we made our way to Post Alley to dance under the string lights.
I am so excited to shoot their elopement in March of this year! Couples like Sammie + Matt remind me why I love this job so much. The feeling of getting to capture love in my favorite spots around the city is unbeatable.
